Two old friends from Canada meet again in Bordeaux.
DAVID SIMARD (Paris / Dorreen, BC)
Originaire de la côte ouest du Canada, David Simard, après six années à Montréal, partage aujourd'hui son temps entre Paris et Dorreen, une petite ville minière abandonnée de Colombie Britannique. Décrit comme un chanteur de 'folk avant-gardiste' dont la musique 'vient du passé et regarde vers le futur', la notion d’espace illumine toutes ses compositions - l’endroit d’où il vient, l’endroit où il va, et l’espace embrassé entre les deux.
Adoubé par le regretté Claude Nobs, fondateur du Festival de Jazz de Montreux, choisi par Yvan Attal pour la bande originale de son dernier film, 'Do Not Disturb', David Simard viendra pour la première fois jouer à Toulouse le 24 janvier prochain. Et c'est rien de dire qu'on a hâte.
